The Race

Description:  Challenging trail race through the Fall Mountain cross country trail network. Start with a fast first mile on the high school X-C course. Then start climbing onto Fall Mountain leading to the infamous Middle Pond climb. The course then loops the top of the mountain and drops past the back of North Pond to a fast trip back down onto the X-C course.

Directions

  • From North:
    From Interstate 91 in Vermont, take exit 7 (Springfield Exit),
    Off exit ramp, turn left toward Charlestown, NH,
    Follow road over the Conn. River until you get to Route 12
    At route 12, turn right,
    Travel south on route 12 to route 12 A,
    Turn right, travel over route 12,
    Proceed 3 miles to the FMRHS driveway on the right,
    Continue 0.7 miles to the school.
  • From South:
    From interstate 91 in Vermont, take exit 5 (Bellows Falls Exit),
    Off exit ramp at stop sign, turn right,
    At the bottom of the hill, turn right toward route 123,
    At Westminster Market/ Mobil bear left, passing under the railroad tracks,
    Follow over the Conn. River until you reach Route 12,
    At the stop sign (Route 12), turn left,
    Travel Route 12N through Walpole,
    Take a right onto Route 123.
    Proceed 1.0 mile, bear right continuing on route 123,
    Before "S" curves, bear left,
    At 2.5 miles you will pass Drewsville country store on the left,
    At the bottom of the hill, continue straight under the blinking yellow light onto Cheshire turnpike,
    At 4.6 miles turn left onto Russell road.
    At the stop sign turn left onto FMRHS road,
    Continue 0.7 miles to the school.
